This is a factory original Supercharged 812 Cord Convertible Phaeton. All numbers are correct: serial #32194 H, motor #FC3303, body #C 91 596. The car is ACD Certified #C-214 and listed on page 261 of Josh Malks book 'Cord - The Timeless Classic'. The nut and bolt professional restoration of this car is absolutely fresh. It was completed in summer of 2003 by Cole's Classics and no expense was spared. The car is painted an elegant rich Maroon, with a Tan top and Tan Connolly leather interior. Considerable research ensures correct detailing of these difficult to restore cars. Motor, supercharger and transmission was rebuilt by Cord experts. The unique transmission shifts easily and reliably. The front-wheel drive Supercharged 812 cord was one of the early muscle cars. It would run over 100 miles per hour and travel 0-60 in 13 seconds, making it one of the fastest pre-war production cars. The Schwitzer-Cummings cam driven centrifugal supercharger added 60 horsepower for a total of 185 bhp in the 288 cubic inch Lycoming V-8. The transmission is a four-speed with an electro-vacuum pre-selector. The exquisite restoration of this car makes it one of the finest Cords in existence. ATTENTION: this Cord and the 1936 Auburn Cabriolet (lot #698) were restored as a matched set of the last two supercharged cars of their era.
