Details

This one-of-a-kind 1971 Porsche 911T Cabriolet 959 re-creation was completed by a retired aerospace engineer in approximately 2003-04. It is powered out back by a rebuilt 2.7-liter air-cooled 6-cylinder engine with rebuilt twin Zenith Solex carburetors connected to a 901 race 5-speed manual transmission. It features new Porsche OEM parts, including heater, blower motor, carpets and embroidered Porsche floor mats, MSD ignition module with rev limiter for racing, 60-amp alternator, fuel pump, OEM clutch, pressure plate, bearing, flywheel, SSI stainless-steel exhaust, stainless-steel heat exchanges, new suspension bushings, MagnaFlow twin mufflers, brake calipers, rotors, pads, stainless-steel brake lines and master cylinder. With custom fiberglass bodywork with body-colored bumpers, the overall effect is to make the car resemble a Porsche 959. Dressed in Guards Red with a basecoat and clearcoat, it features a black canvas top with a matching boot cover. This car rolls on BFGoodrich G-Force Sport radials in front and Goodyear Eagle GT radials in back. Each tire is mounted on a Compomotive two-piece racing wheel. Inside the car's black interior sit black bucket seats with matching carpet and black inner door panels. Driver convenience features include Classic air conditioning, power windows and power seats. A 4-spoke MOMO steering wheel fronts the red instrument panel with black dash pad and trim and VDO gauges. A console-mounted shifter and a JVC stereo with Bluetooth complete the interior. The engine was rebuilt by Motor Meister at a cost of $7,500, and it has been driven a little over 8,000 miles since restoration. Documentation includes build receipts and a maintenance manual, as well as new and used spare parts.
