1969 CHEVROLET COPO CAMARO - DICK HARRELL BUILD

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is powered by a date-code-correct 427/425hp engine with a CE 512 block, built up to correct specifications. Behind the engine is a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and the original rear end. This car is the recipient of a comprehensive frame-off restoration completed to factory day-two specifications, with only test miles since completion. The original VIN and data body tags are in place. The exterior is finished in Rally Green and equipped with the Stinger-type hood with white graphics, rear deck spoiler, small Harrell-built front tag and Harrell body emblem identification, 427 chrome displacement front fender callouts and SS trim on the outside. The interior features bucket seats, a Hurst shifter, an SS steering wheel, a column-mount Sun tachometer and a chrome bezel auxiliary gauge cluster. It rides on period Kelsey-Hayes Stripper wheels with correct offset-size Goodyear Polyglas tires. Part of the legacy of Dick Harrell, known as 'Mr. Chevrolet,' were the street and strip cars he modified to have greater power. Based out of a conversion shop in Missouri, the Dick Harrell Performance Center did the original conversion on this factory X66 SS396 Camaro, which was prepped by Harrell himself. This car was owned by Rick Lenane, a member of the Fred Gibb and Dick Harrell racing team in the late '60s to early '70s and a friend of the Gibb and Harrell families. When purchased in 1994, this car was verified with a signed affidavit by Lenane attesting to its ownership. The sale of this vehicle comes with a binder of documents and photos of the build.
