Details

Finished in its original color of Competition Orange with black accents, this 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator Boss 302 is the product of a 4-year rotisserie restoration that was completed in 2008 and is one of 2,268 produced during the model year. Power comes from a correct 1970 Boss 302/290hp V8 engine coupled to a close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt by Dan Williams. It is one of 469 powered by the Boss 302ci V8 (G-code) engine and one of only 146 equipped with the 4-speed

close-ratio (2.78:1) manual transmission. Equipped with a factory Holley 780 carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, replacement radiator with an electric fan and a rebuilt 3.91 Traction-Lok rear axle. Additionally, the car was ordered with options that include the Eliminator Package, higher-ratio axle, Traction-Lok differential, courtesy lights, F70x14 belted tires with raised white letters, console, power front disc brakes, power steering, AM/8-track stereo radio, intermittent windshield wipers, Decor Group, tinted glass, Protection Group and heavy-duty battery. The restored interior features correct black Clarion-knit decor with bucket seats, a custom Autosound stereo system concealed in the glove box. The car sits on the correct style steel wheels with Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport F70-14 tires. This car was added to the Mercury Cougar Eliminator Registry in August 1988. The Eliminator Registry verification letter from April 24, 2020, is included. It's won 30 prestigious awards, which are also included. Some of the national awards are from the MCA, NMRA and IMOA, which include Best of Show, Best in Class, Best Body and Paint, Platinum Award and First Place. In 2017, it won the Best Eliminator Award at the Mercury Club of America 50th Anniversary. It was also featured in multiple magazines and on Power Nation TV. The magazines and DVD are included. The Marti Auto Works Deluxe Report is included. It also includes the original Ford invoice, better known as the 'Lois Eminger Report.'
