Details

This first-generation 1968 Chevrolet Camaro received a professional nut-and-bolt frame-off rotisserie restoration and custom build. This high-quality Pro-Touring build was designed to maintain the car's factory-original identity while injecting it with modern power, performance and passenger comfort. Power is provided by a new GM 6.2-liter LS3 crate engine controlled by a GM Plug and Play kit mated to a new TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission and GM clutch kit. The Denny's aluminum 5-inch diameter driveshaft turns a complete Moser 9-inch nodular posi-traction rear with a Detroit Locker carrier assembly using 35-spline axles and a 4.10 gear. Braking is courtesy of Wilwood 6-piston calipers clamping on 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Engine cooling is accomplished by an aluminum radiator with electric fans. Headers feed a custom side-exiting stainless steel exhaust system. The car is built on a Scott's Hotrods full-length X-brace chassis fitted with tubular control arms, splined sway bar and power rack & pinion steering, it has RideTech coilover shocks at all four corners with adjustable ride-height and rebound. The suspension has been precision tuned using weight scales at all four wheels for improved balance and handling. The rear end is held in place with a triangulated 4-link setup. Power is put to the ground with meaty 305 rear Nitto tires mounted on 18-inch Rocket wheels tucked under the mini-tubbed rear quarters. The attention to detail is evident even on the underside which is finished with matching exterior paint and black powder-coated frame, chassis components and rear differential and axle housing. The custom-tailored interior features black leather seats accented with red stitching, Vintage Air climate-control system, modern Dakota Digital HDX gauges, matching center console with lighted cup holders, tilt steering column, and a custom Soundstream sound system with a 1,200-watt amp powering the four interior speakers, a 1,000-watt amp powering the trunk-mounted Rockford Fosgate subwoofer and a Bullz Audio 3,300-watt capacitor to store and provide voltage to the system.
