1974 CHEVROLET LAGUNA 'CANNONBALL RUN'

This 1974 Chevy Chevelle 454 Laguna S3 is a re-creation of the promotional car used for the famous 'Cannonball Run' movie, which starred Burt Reynolds as J.J. McClure. The list of other celebrities in this movie read like a who's who of the Hollywood actors of that time, including Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Dom DeLuise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and a host of others. The movie car and this promo car were badged as a street version of the Hawaiian Tropic race car of that era. In the movie

the Hawaiian Tropic car was driven by Terry Bradshaw and Mel Tillus as a couple of 'good ol' boys' entered in the race. This car was used for promotional purposes by Restore a Muscle Car and the Burt Reynolds Institute. It has also been used in numerous shows throughout the country. The title for the car is still in the name of Bandit Movie Cars Florida LLC, a Burt Reynolds company. It is an older restoration, with the original 454ci 8-cylinder engine and Turbo 400 automatic transmission rebuilt. It also has a leather interior with factory swivel bucket seats. It's equipped with Goodyear NASCAR Eagle one tires, a dual exhaust system with electric cutouts, Hooker headers and Flowmaster mufflers. An overall solid car, it also has a fiberglass cowl-induction hood, Cragar chrome mod wheels, Sony sound system and factory gauges. Runs and drives great, cruises down the road very strong.
