This beautiful pickup features new paint and a new interior. It's powered by a rebuilt original 226ci engine and a smooth-shifting 3-speed manual transmission. This truck has been restored as a tribute to the Lauderdale Marina, a Florida business since 1948. Fort Lauderdale became an actual city in 1911, and the Lauderdale Marina was opened in 1948 by a man named Cox who came to Florida from New York and discovered highly secret, abandoned research station for submarine World War II torpedoes.
He turned it into the Lauderdale Marina, which is still owned by the same Family today. Cox drove a Studebaker truck and used it to tow boats around the area. This truck was purchased in Kentucky many years ago from an old salvage yard and restored back to the beautiful classic Studebaker pickup seen here today. Because the truck came from a wrecking yard and the original paperwork was lost somewhere between 1949 and 200, the truck is now being sold on a rebuilt title. This truck runs, drives and looks like it just rolled off the assembly line brand-new. It comes with original key from 1949 and Lauderdale Marina history board. **SOLD ON REBUILT/SALVAGE TITLE**
