This W153, 230B Cabrio was built in 1939 and first registered in Switzerland in February 1940. It has a matching-numbers 6-cylinder engine producing 55hp with 5-gear manual shift (four forward and one reverse). The exterior features two-tone green and beige with beige leather interior. It was completely restored between 2006 and 2009. Taken apart to the very last screw, it was restored or re-done if needed. The process was photo-documented. The electrical cable sets were completely replaced and
the gas tank was remade to original. All the owners since 1940 are known. Three original suitcases, with silk interiors, fit into the trunk. A number of original spare parts, as well as original repair and spare parts manuals are available. This Mercedes-Benz was imported into the U.S. in March 2015 and always kept in an air conditioned garage. It won the Baden, Switzerland Concours d'Elegance in in 2009.
