1959 Morgan ss recreation convertible left the Morgan Motor Co. Factory in October, 1959. The car was imported from London in 1975, and has received extensive maintenance over the ensuing years, including recent new tires, shocks, brakes, etc.
Details
The car was imported into the United States (air freight) from London in 1975. In August, September and October of 1994 it entered into an extensive maintenance program at GT cars of Bloomington, MN. The racing steering wheel was replaced with a 14' touring steering wheel, electric cooling fan was replaced with an engine driven fan (for better cooling), hoses were replaced, wheel brake motors were machined, fluids were drained and refilled, wheel bearings were replaced, both front and back
halves of transmission and drive shaft removed for new u joints and seals, carbs were reworked and worn parts were replaced, electrical connections were checked and repaired, gas tank was removed, flushed and reinstalled, and all systems were examined, repaired where necessary, and tuned. Recent extensive maintenance program includes the removal, flushing, re-lining and re-installation of the gas tank, replacing the fuel pump, installing new Morgan heater and reinforcing the fabric hood, installing new tires, shock absorbers, front calipers, brake pads and lines, master cylinder, oil cooler kit, starter, battery and new horn. The automobile is in basically original condition.
