Description

Summary

Custom Model A Woody wagon, steel body.

Details

This is a custom-built all-steel Ford Model A Street-Rod. This museum collector is the result of a very high-quality professional complete rotisserie frame-off restoration. Starting with a bare frame, an endless supply of funds helped complete the labor of love for this 5-year build. Body is fabricated from solid hard maple. All joints are box joints, giving the body maximum strength. Many body modifications include 2' chop on top, windshield laid back 2-3/4', steel fenders, running boards and

splash aprons all welded-in seams and filed, 32 steel grill shell, Hagan one-piece hood and removable smooth hood side panels. Hood is hinged to open from the left or right. It can be removed completely to reveal an impressive Ford stroker engine. Doors are suicide-hinged for easy access in and out. Windshield is hinged to open if desired. Door windows slide down for easy operation. 32 Ford steel dash is loaded with instrumentation; speedo, tach, oil pressure, water temp, volt meter, fuel level and dual fuel tanks operated by a toggle switch below the dash, Lokar emergency brake located between the bucket seats and Mohave heater. Seats are custom-upholstered in Buckskin. Custom aluminum polished steering wheel matches wheels. GM tilt column with ignition switch in column. Harts cloth padded top covers the varnished maple slats, which are visible inside car. Chassis is a Z'd and boxed Model A chassis. TCI supplied the polished stainless-steel independent front suspension with chrome spindles, as well as polished disc brake calipers and backing plates. Rack & pinion steering box is mounted behind the axle. QA1 Carrera polished and adjustable shocks with chrome springs are present on all four corners. Rear suspension is polished stainless steel with a panhard bar. Power comes from a 302 Ford stroked to 347ci, intake manifold and carbs, Barry Grant-modified Demon 6-pack with progressive linkage, billet fuel lines and 6-shooter aluminum air cleaner. Power is transmitted through a T5 5-speed transmission to a 4.11 gears, and drum brakes on the S-10 rear end. Car weighs 2,520 lbs. Exhaust is through a chrome set of Sanderson headers, alumicoated exhaust pipes with stainless steel Dynamax mufflers and stainless steel one-off exhaust tips. Exhaust exits through a custom-built rolled rear pan with Hagan dual mail slot taillights. Third brake light is on the lift gate. Headlights have high and low beam, with turning signals inside. Tires are big and small radials mounted on Weld Rod Light polished wheels.
