1965 SHELBY GT350 SR CUSTOM FASTBACK

As the 40th anniversary of Carroll Shelby's history making the GT350 and 427 Cobra approached it made perfect sense to Carroll Shelby to build a 1965 GT350 SR 40th Anniversary 427 edition. This Shelby would commemorate both the GT350 and 427 Cobra in one magnificent street machine. Originally the plan was to build 40 Anniversary Editions but that never happened. This is a limited production 40th Anniversary 427 Edition. The cars Shelby DNA is evident throughout the build. The hood, front fenders

and front bumper are fiberglass. Beautiful silver paint with blue racing stripes and Shelby markings. The door handles and mirrors are brushed for a smooth look. The car rides on custom Foose wheels that are 17x10 on the rear with BFGoodrich tires. The exterior is complimented with a sharp blue interior. Some interior upgrades include Shelby gauges, tilt steering column with Shelby steering wheel, Shelby signature scat bucket seats with G-Force seat belts, billet shifter, Hurricane air conditioning, Sony sound system, rear 4-point roll bar, rear deck spare tire and Shelby appointments throughout. The detailed engine compartment houses the aluminum 427cid V8 with FAST sequential electronic fuel injection. This engine has 585hp and many upgrades. It is cooled by an aluminum radiator with electric fan. The engine is coupled to a Tremec 5-speed transmission and 9' Currie rear end with Tru-Trac differential and 3.25 gears. The engine breathes through JBA shorty headers, Spin Tech mufflers and 2 1/2' side exhaust. The trunk compartment conceals the 22 gallon fuel tank and Optima battery with power cut off. The detailed undercarriage has many upgrades including subframe connectors, front tubular control arms, QA1 coilovers both front and rear, rack & pinion power steering, Watts rear link setup and Baer disc brakes at all four corners. This Shelby was built to pound the pavement and look good doing it.
