In a throwback to the famed Shelby GT350H 'Rent-A-Racer' program from the 1960s, Ford, Shelby and The Hertz Corporation partnered to produce a special run of performance-modified Ford Mustang GTs in 2006. The new Ford Shelby GT-H commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the legendary rental car program. Like its predecessor, the 2006 Ford Shelby GT-H was instantly recognizable with its black exterior paint set off with Gold racing stripes, a hallmark of Hertz's vehicle history dating all the way
back to the 1920s. The Ford Shelby GT-H was fitted with a custom Shelby appearance package, Ford Racing Power Pack to add 25-horsepower and 10 lb.-ft. of torque to the 4.6 liter V8, suspension stiffing components, new exhaust system, special wheels, a 3.55:1 ratio rear axle assembly and interior touches. A total of 517 coupes, all of which had automatic transmissions except for 4 Hertz executive cars built with 5 speed manuals, were built for rental through select Hertz locations in the United States. This car is the first and only prototype for the 2006 Hertz Shelby to be displayed in the Las Vegas Shelby Museum. **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
