Inspired by Carroll Shelby's success in shoehorning a Ford V8 into the AC Ace to create the Cobra, Rootes asked Shelby to perform the same trick with its Sunbeam Alpine sports car. This particular 1966 Tiger Mark IA was restored in Vintage race trim and has been recognized and signed by Carroll Shelby Himself in 2001. Refinished in Carnival Red exterior, black interior and black folding softtop and sports an upgraded 289 Aluminum head Ford Engine with a 4-speed manual gearbox and Wilwood 4-wheel
disc brakes. Extremely rare and desirable collector car that has had many years of enjoyment and excitement at various racetracks throughout North America competing in SCCA and SVRA events.
