Details

1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6 Convertible, arguably the pinnacle of the muscle car heap and one of the most sought-after combinations ever to pound the pavement. This car is the result of one man's lifelong obsession and a relentless 20 year search to obtain this muscle car icon. The goal was to locate this very rare Fathom Blue and Pearl LS6 Chevelle convertible. The realization of this dream was accomplished when the car was tracked down, rescued, and a no expense spared, frame-off restoration was commissioned that was completed in 2005 to its original showroom glory. Built at the Van Nuys, CA factory, this car was restored just as it left there on its way to the original selling Dealer in Nephi, Utah, right down to the Goodyear Polyglas tires. A 454 LS6, M22 4-speed, Cowl Inducted Chevelle Convertible, in Fathom Blue and Pearl. The car was restored to original factory specs of color, finishes and options using only NOS or GM Restoration parts. These options include SS package, factory tach and gauges, buckets and center console, tilt wheel, tinted glass, special Cowl Induction hood, power steering, power disc brakes, LS6 450hp 454, M22 Muncie 'Rock Crusher' transmission, F41 suspension, and AM-FM Radio. The car retains its original matching numbers engine with most of its original correctly dated components including cylinder heads, intake, distributor and carburetor, all rebuilt to its original LS6 specs. The 3963512 block carries the original VIN stamping and an engine code of T0328CRV, with a casting date of L 19 9 (December 19, 1969). The car also retains its original correct date coded 3.31 12-bolt posi-traction rear end and a correct date coded M22 transmission. The car comes with a Build Sheet, pre-restoration and restoration photos, a signed affidavit by a former owner and a stack of restoration receipts.
