This gorgeous 1959 Chevrolet 3100 Apache stepside is very stylish with its great design. It is the center of attention wherever it goes and is a blast to drive. In 1955, Chevrolet’s Advanced Design Pickups were improved to create the Task Force series, a larger, more modernly styled truck line that spanned through 1959. As the VIN indicates, this truck is a 3100 that was built at the Flint, MI, assembly plant. It’s the product of a full restoration with attention to detail throughout. It retains most of the original sheet metal, with exception on the fiberglass rear fenders. According to the Trim Tag, the truck was originally green. During the restoration the color was changed to maroon, which fits this truck perfectly. This color is beautiful and pops in the sunlight. The paint has been detailed and shines very nicely. It sports a silver grille that adds character. All of the glass is new and looks great. Everything on the exterior - such as the wipers, mirror, door handles, bumpers and emblems - has been restored or replaced. The bed has beautiful oak wood floors with polished floor rails. The tailgate has new chains and brackets that are protected with black material. The truck sits on 15” painted steel wheels with hubcaps and Dayton Thoroughbred whitewall tires that are 225-75-15. It also has a matching spare located on the driver’s side rear bed. The exterior is complemented with a matching maroon and black interior. Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced, such as the headliner, sun visor, speaker cover, gauges, steering wheel, knobs, bench seat and rubber flooring. Everything in the interior is in working order, with the exception of the radio. The engine compartment was restored and highly detailed throughout. The firewall is painted the body color, and the underside of the hood, inner fenders and radiator support are painted gloss black. The engine compartment has many correct features throughout. It’s powered by the 235ci inline-6 engine that runs excellent. The engine casting is #3764476, which is correct for a 1958-62 Chevrolet 235ci inline-6 engine. The engine distributor deck stamping reads #F223J, which indicates it was built February 23 in Flint, MI, for a 3100 series. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and factory-style exhaust. The engine is coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission that is simple to operate. The undercarriage was completely restored and is nicely detailed. The undercarriage of this truck is mirror-quality. Everything underneath has been restored or replaced, such as the braking and suspension system. This truck has been serviced and detailed.
