1968 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE

Details

Built in January 1968, this Corvette was finished in British Racing Green. It was repainted circa 2007-08, when it also received new chrome bumpers, seats, carpet and tan soft-top. It features 1969-style side pipes and 1969 gill inserts. Not a matching-numbers car, it's powered by a 327ci block with correct date-code stamping, but it has been decked, so the engine serial number was removed. It has a 4-speed manual transmission with 3:55 posi-traction rear, Pertronix ignition and new Holley

carburetor. The original Rochester carb goes with car. A new high-torque starter was built into the original starter case. It's equipped with newer headlight vacuum hoses, wiper door and new wiper motor. In 2012, it received a new distributor cap and plug wires. After 2012, it received front semi-coilover suspension with new springs and QA-1 shocks, new control arms, rebuilt steering box and front shock tower spreader bar. It's been lowered about 2' and features Shark Bite independent rear suspension with QA-1 shocks and new rear adjustable strut rods. A new gas tank was installed by the previous owner. It also features a new steering damper and oil pan. It's outfitted with a bolt-in chrome roll bar that can be removed and Schroth 4-point belts. It rides on newer tires and has new brake discs and pads on all four wheels. A great driver; options in working order include the heater/defroster blower motor, AM radio, interior courtesy lights, door-ajar warning light and key-in-ignition warning buzzer. Non-working components include the odometer, cigar lighter, clock and windshield washer. Includes restoration photos. It's always been parked in an insulated garage. Components that go with the car include four 8x15' Rally wheels, chrome wheel rings and hubcaps, extra set of control arms, original spare tire, spare tire carrier, with lock, original jack and lug wrench, rocker panel trim pieces, miscellaneous spares, newer original-type shocks, original lap belts and hardware.
