Description

Summary

One of only 1,806. 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission. Lots of documentation - including Deluxe Marti Report - and beautifully restored.

Details

This spectacular Mustang Boss 351 has many highlights. Only 1,806 Boss 351 Mustangs were built. This car is documented with the Eminger report original factory invoice, Ford Customer Assistance Center letter of Authenticity, Marti Auto Works production letter and Marti Auto Works Deluxe Report. This car was built at the Dearborn Assembly plant on the sixth day of production, November 9, 1970, and was between the eighth and 17th Boss 351 manufactured, as documented by Kevin Marti of Marti Auto

Works. The car was sold new at Schmidt Ford in Baltimore, MD. It was ordered with Grabber Blue paint with white Clarion Knit/Corinthian vinyl interior. This is one of only nine Boss 351s with this paint and trim code, as documented on the Marti Report. It was also ordered with a 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission, Traction-Lok differential, power steering, AM/FM stereo, console, décor group, tinted glass and F60x15' wide-oval, belted, raised-white-letter tires. The car has great history; it spent 30 years with the same owner from 1984 to 2014. The car has been completely restored to high-level standards from top to bottom. The body is extremely straight with great panel fitment. The doors open and close amazing. The show-quality Grabber Blue paint is beautiful and ocean deep. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced. It sits on 15' BFGoodrich radial T/As, which improve the ride and handling. The interior is in beautiful condition. Everything has been restored or replaced and is in working order. The trunk compartment is detailed and houses the spare tire and tools, including the canister. The engine compartment is highly detailed and the fender stamp matches the VIN. The rebuilt Boss 351 engine casting dates and build dates match the car's build date, but there is no VIN stamp on the back of the block. The cylinder head numbers also match the car's build date. The intake manifold and carburetor are also Boss 351-specific. This engine runs and sounds amazing. The engine is coupled to the original matching-numbers 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission. The transmission has the matching VIN stamped on top, and the casting and tag numbers match the car's build date. It also has the original Hurst competition shift linkage. The power is transferred to the pavement through the original matching-numbers Ford 9' rear end. The rear-end casting numbers and tag numbers match the car's build date. This car has recently been fully serviced and detailed. This car isn't just a show car - it's a great-running and driving car.
