1932 FORD CUSTOM ROADSTER

Details

This all-steel Brookville-bodied roadster was hand-built for the 2011 AMBR competition. Beneath the lengthened and channeled steel body is a custom-fabricated chassis with extended rails. The engine is a 296ci blown Flathead based on a 1948 Mercury block, Weiand 142 blower, Holley 500 double pumper carburetor, custom-fabricated exhaust and pulleys, and two custom radiators with an electric fan mounted in between. The 1932 rails are extended 7' to get that long, low look, and for clearance the

engine is raised 3'. The blown Flathead is mated to a Tremec T5 transmission from a late-model Mustang. Kugel supplied the front and rear suspension, which was completely disassembled and polished. The Wilwood disc brakes in the front and Corvette brakes in the rear are surrounded with custom wheels and tires. Subtle touches include pneumatic rear taillights, license plate actuator, custom-fabricated shifter and pneumatic E-brake. The all-steel Brookville has been modified by lengthening the doors by 2' and channeling the body over the frame by 6'. It has a Duvall-style windshield and custom-fabricated roll-bar hoop and rear bumper. At the front is a one-of-a-kind grille and grille shell. The car is finished with Mercedes Benz carpet, and custom leather interior and custom top.
