Scottsdale, AZ – July 24, 2019 – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, has been recognized as the No. 1 Best Attraction for Car Lovers in the 2019 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest. The 20 nominees were chosen by a panel of experts, which includes a combination of editors from USA TODAY and 10Best.com, as well as other relevant expert contributors and media sources.

“This is an incredible honor for all of us at Barrett-Jackson,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Our team works tirelessly to create the ultimate lifestyle experience for our guests across the country. I’m thankful for the consignors, bidders, sponsors and collector car enthusiasts who voted with their hearts for this great recognition and are an integral part of the Barrett-Jackson family.”

What started as a simple friendship between two car enthusiasts, Tom Barrett and Russ Jackson, in the early 1960s in Arizona, resulted in the families working together to stage the “Fiesta de los Autos Elegantes” in 1967. That early car show and parade was held to raise money for Scottsdale, Arizona’s art center and buy books for the community’s library – a commitment to philanthropy that remains a key element of Barrett-Jackson, with the total amount raised for charity more than $118 million to date. By the fall of 1971, the car show was phased out and work began on a collector car auction to be held that winter, seeded with 75 vehicles from Jackson’s and Barrett’s personal collections.

Nearly 50 years later, Barrett-Jackson has blossomed over the years into the world’s most prestigious and anticipated collector car events, hosting four auctions each year in Scottsdale, Arizona; Palm Beach, Florida; Mohegan Sun, Connecticut; and Las Vegas, Nevada. Each auction is broadcast live on Discovery Networks International and the Motortrend Network.

“I’m extremely proud of what the Barrett-Jackson family of enthusiasts can accomplish when we come together,” said Barrett-Jackson President Steve Davis. “Each year we strive to be better than the last, providing the ultimate collector car experience ‒ whether you are watching from home or in the auction arena.”
