In 2021, while attending Cody Walker’s FuelFest in Phoenix, Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson and Vice President of Brand Strategy Carolyn Jackson participated in an event with Driven Project, which provides “supercar therapy” to kids battling critical illnesses and heavy life challenges.
“Supercars represent what every child dreams of. To see the smiles and excitement these cars brought to the children and their families at FuelFest was touching,” Craig said. The Jacksons knew that bringing Driven Project to Barrett-Jackson would be a great way to open QT Family Day at the 2022 Scottsdale Auction.
“It was incredibly important for Barrett-Jackson to kick off our 50th Anniversary celebration with an emphasis on something that is truly important, and that’s helping families who may be facing some difficult challenges,” Carolyn said. “Hosting this rewarding activity was one of my favorite elements of the entire auction.”
Twenty extraordinary supercars took “Very Important Passengers” on an adrenaline-filled joy ride through North Scottsdale.
“It’s important for kids who are dealing with hardships in life to have a positive outlook. A ride in a supercar can impact the way they view the world and help them find a silver lining in their situation,” said Kevin Gordon, founder and executive director of Driven Project.
After the ride, each child received a hero’s welcome on the auction block and a gift bag filled with goodies from Barrett-Jackson and Toyota.
Barrett-Jackson was honored to offer the platform for this special endeavor. It touched the lives of the auction company’s team as deeply as it did those of the participants.
