African Parks, a leading non-profit organization focused on wildlife conservation, will be in the spotlight at Barrett-Jackson’s 2025 Scottsdale Auction, Jan. 18-26 at WestWorld, where a special charity vehicle will sell with No Reserve – with 100% of the hammer price benefiting their ongoing efforts across Africa.
Founded in 2000, African Parks manages 22 national parks and protected areas in 12 African countries, working to protect some of the continent’s most threatened wildlife and ecosystems. The organization’s approach involves long-term management, community engagement and restoring ecosystems to create sustainable environments where wildlife can thrive. Their projects span from anti-poaching initiatives to community development programs, all aimed at ensuring that Africa’s rich biodiversity is preserved for future generations.
Africa’s environment is critical to the health of the planet due to its vast biodiversity and vital ecosystems. The continent is home to some of the world’s most iconic species, including elephants, rhinos and lions, which play key roles in maintaining ecological balance. Africa’s rainforests, savannas and wetlands also serve as essential carbon sinks, helping to regulate the global climate. Furthermore, Africa’s natural resources support millions of people who rely on agriculture, fishing and tourism for their livelihoods. Protecting Africa’s environment is not only crucial for preserving its wildlife but also for sustaining the livelihoods of local communities and mitigating global climate change.

At the Scottsdale Auction, African Parks will benefit from the auction of a 2024 Shelby Ford F-150 Raptor R Barrett-Jackson Edition pickup (Lot #3002). The vehicle’s sale will help fund critical projects that support the protection of endangered species and help African Parks continue its tireless efforts in combating poaching, habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict.
The winning bidder will also receive a luxury safari adventure to Rwanda, East Africa, with Journeys by Design & Wilderness. During the safari, guests will spend two nights at Wilderness Bisate or Wilderness Sabyinyo (adjacent to Volcanoes National Park) and two nights at Wilderness Magashi, situated in a diverse northeastern corner of Akagera National Park. All meals and local drinks are included, as well as twice daily scheduled camp activities, a guide and vehicle for the duration of the safari.
For African Parks, this initiative is just one of many ways they are raising awareness and engaging the public in wildlife conservation efforts, ensuring the organization’s goals of restoring Africa’s national parks remain a top priority for years to come.
