LOT 705.1 – 1968 CHEVROLET YENKO SUPER CAMARO 427/450 – SOLD! $533,500
Easily identifiable by their classic two-door coupe design and potent engines, muscle cars have parked themselves in the hearts of most motorists. The 1960s and very early 1970s represented the last timeframe in which manufacturers were free to design cars without federal safety, fuel economy and emission-control regulations. In other words, bumpers didn’t have to take bumps, hardtop roofs didn’t need strong B-pillars, and good mileage was strictly optional. Unconstrained freedom led to the muscle car wars. With freedom comes excess; in this case, that means only one thing: more power. The short-lived age of American muscle has led these cars to be some of the most desirable vehicles to cross the block. These are the top-selling un-modified muscle cars at the 2022 Palm Beach Auction.
