TTT_5018_CJ_SD_pinewoodderbycarsBarrett-Jackson welcomes the Boy Scouts of America at the 2022 Palm Beach Auction as part of Barrett-Jackson’s longtime mission to share the collector car hobby, reaching new generations in innovative ways whenever possible.

To celebrate this mission, all uniformed Boy Scouts will receive free admission and discounts for family members to attend the Auction on Saturday, April 9. This is all part of an ongoing initiative geared toward introducing young children to the passion and excitement within the automotive industry.

At the recent 2022 Scottsdale Auction, the Boy Scouts worked towards their automotive merit badge on-site. Scouts visited seven stations and learned from qualified instructors and mechanics about various everyday automotive tasks, such as understanding dashboard icons, seatbelt safety and checking the engine oil.

Universal Technical Institute also was on hand with representatives who spoke with the Scouts about careers in the automotive industry. All Scouts in attendance received a unique Barrett-Jackson patch.

In addition to the automotive merit badge activities, the auction site played host to a Pinewood Derby. Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson and President Steve Davis got in on the action with pinewood replicas of their late-model Ford GTs. Davis won the first round, and it was heartwarming to see both gentlemen completely caught up in the competition.

When you see a Scout at the Palm Beach auction this April, give them a salute. They are part of the future — and part of what makes this hobby great.
