2022 HOUSTON AUCTION – 2019 FORD GT – NO RESERVE

2022 HOUSTON AUCTION – 2019 FORD GT – NO RESERVE

For any Ford enthusiast, the Ford GT is a “holy grail” car with an absolutely incredible history and legacy spawning from the GT40 that won Le Mans in 1966. The latest iteration of the car, in its third generation of production (when considering the original GT40) has had an extremely limited number of cars built each year since its debut in 2017. Further adding to its allure is that the Ford GT is only sold to buyers who meet specific criteria approved by Ford. For those infatuated with the car and not wanting to go through the process for Ford’s list of approved buyers, the 2022 Houston Auction, October 20-22 at NRG Center, provides an opportunity to obtain the elusive and exclusive 2019 Ford GT.

260375_EngineThe resurrected Ford GT is regarded by many as a true street-legal race car. Although the American supercar has some creature comforts in its spaceship-like interior, its focus is on speed and top-notch performance — the car can hit 60 mph from a standstill in 3 seconds. If that is not enough to keep you glued to the driver’s seat, the GT also comes rated with a top speed of more than 216 mph.

The heart of this track-focused monster is a mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine rated with 647 horsepower and 550 ft/lbs of torque. Some were surprised at the use of a V6 in this generation of the Ford GT, but once you punch the gas pedal you completely understand that the engineers at Ford mean business. Tie all that combustion to a 7-speed Getrag dual-clutch automatic transmission that delivers power straight to the rear wheels and you are in for the ride of your life.

Working with the impressive engine to achieve its performance stats is a host of other elements that give this Ford GT its supercar reputation. One of those components is the carbon fiber monocoque chassis and its carbon fiber body. The strong, lightweight material works to achieve a lower curb weight than if it had been made with steel or aluminum, answering the call for the need for speed with incredible style.

Other performance enhancements include electronic active damping, which works with different drive modes to offer unique chassis tuning depending on which drive mode is selected. “Normal” mode offers a softer damping to give the driver a more comfortable ride, while enabling “Track” mode effectively lowers the ride height by almost 2 inches, giving the driver a slammed racing suspension to reduce vibrations and improve driving accuracy. This GT can seamlessly handle anything from a casual Sunday drive when in “Comfort” mode to the intensity of the track and everything in between, all with the turn of a dial.

260375_InteriorGiven its power-to-weight ratio, Ford needed the car to be able to come to a stop promptly, so the GT was fitted with a set of Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with silver brake calipers and a speed-activated keel deployable rear wing that also acts as an airbrake. When driving, the rear wing can fold down for maximum aerodynamics, extend up to provide downforce on the track and tilt itself to act as an airbrake at high speeds. The rear wing is automatically extended in “Track” mode, while “Normal” and “Sport” modes also allow the wing to extend when running at top speed.

This 2019 Ford GT, Chassis No. 162, is selling with No Reserve, meaning the highest bidder is taking this rocket ship home. It has been fitted with over $60,000 in factory options, including Equipment Group 200A. Finished with a Liquid Grey Tricoat exterior paint accented with Ingot Silver stripes, this GT is certain to turn heads wherever it goes. Other options include the exterior gloss carbon fiber package — exposing some of the carbon fiber on the car, including the front splitter. 20-inch gloss black forged wheels round out the look, pushing all that power to the pavement and adding to its auspicious appearance.

260375_Rear_3-4The interior of the Ford GT has a futuristic theme, achieved with its Re-Entry two-tone black and white color scheme. The driver can feel like a true professional driver and control the vehicle with an F1-inspired steering wheel wrapped in leather with an integrated LED rev indicator. Additional indicators of the Ford GT’s track-worthiness are the fixed carbon fiber Sparco seats and adjustable pedal assembly. Unlike more pedestrian cars where the driver moves the seat into a comfortable driving position, the Ford GT focuses on driver ergonomics, with the seat remaining in place while the pedals are moved to where it is most comfortable for the driver.

Included with the sale of this Ford GT are original items such as the Window Sticker, a factory battery charger — because Ford knows you might not drive it daily — and factory blue car cover with the chassis number printed on it.

With just over 550 actual miles, this No Reserve 2019 Ford GT is sure to steal the show during the 2022 Houston Auction. Register to bid today to bring this superstar home.
