Details
This 1970 Chevelle LS6 was built in the Arlington, TX, plant on February 18, 1970, and is powered by the legendary 454ci V8 engine producing 450hp, complete with a 4-speed Muncie Rock Crusher manual transmission and 3.31 gears. It was originally shipped to, and sold by, Lee Johnson Chevrolet in Kirkland, WA, as confirmed by the NCRS shipping data report. It is also registered in the International LS6 Registry. This example of muscle car history includes RPO option Z15, the SS 454 equipment
package, which came with a dual exhaust system, black-accented grille, power disc brakes and bright engine accents, along with many other features. Also included is Option ZL2, which included D88 hood and deck stripes, along with the special cowl-induction hood, that has a vacuum-controlled 'flapper' that opens when the engine is under throttle. It has been restored back to its original glory, right down to the reproduction Gardner dual-exhaust system. A glance in the engine compartment reveals factory-correct exhaust manifolds, with an original Air Injector Reactor (A.I.R.) pump, included as standard equipment on all solid-lifter cars. This car is equipped with a Holley EFI carburetor kit for better drivability, but also included is the original remanufactured Holley 780 cfm 4557 carburetor. Other standard SS features include the F41 heavy-duty suspension package, with boxed lower arms and sway bar. While the interior floor pan and trunk surfaces were given a fresh, new, 'straight from the factory' look, the underside was left original, as further proof of this car's solid, rust-less condition. The reconditioned factory bench seat is upholstered in factory-correct Madrid Grain vinyl, has custom deluxe seatbelts and complements the factory-correct headliner. The glass is a date-coded Soft-Ray tinted glass matching the car's original production date. The dash features a Vintage Auto radio, offering the factory appearance of the original AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth inside. This beautiful LS6 muscle car wouldn't be complete without its factory-style 14x7 sport wheels, capped with a set of raised-white-letter Firestone Wide Oval tires. The new owner will have great opportunities to show off this piece of automotive history with invitation to display this Chevelle LS6 at both the Las Vegas Concours D'elegance from October 21-24, 2021 and the La Jolla Concours next April; registration and tickets are included.
