Details
This 1932 Ford Boydster is one of only six built in Boyd Coddington's shop along with Chip Foose. Powered by a 450hp Z06 Corvette engine mated to a GM 4L60E automatic transmission, it is striking in House of Kolor Purple Passion exterior applied by Charlie Hutton. It rolls on a Boyd Pro Ride chassis mounting Boyd Coddington Magneatos spindle-mounted wheels, with no lug nuts or hidden fasteners used. The underpinnings are all independent, in chrome and polished aluminum, and include custom
control arms, hub carriers, brake brackets and rotors. A polished Corvette differential by Coddington houses 3.70:1 gears and posi-traction. Inside the iconic suicide doors, the Boydster features an expertly trimmed leather interior by Gabe Lopez. The dash includes a custom insert and handmade Boyd billet steering wheel atop an Ididit steering column. The gauges incorporated into the dash panel are custom one-offs. Other awesome items include LED turn signals, a hidden sound system with remote and King-Bee halogen lights. This is a stunning Boydster 2 with the Chip Foose influence. The Purple Passion paint sets this street rod apart from all others. Unlike most glass-bodied rods, this is a truly historically significant hot rod. The firewall has Boyd Coddington's own shop logo on it.
