1931 FORD MODEL A PICKUP

Known as a Model A closed-cab pickup, Ford's model number 82B came with an all-steel Budd-built cab starting August 1931, which was the first year the pickup was offered this way. This was the first all-steel body for any American vehicle. Doing away with the wood cab construction greatly increased the life span of these trucks. A total of 8,282 82B-model units were built in 1931. Only the ones made after August 1931 were steel cabs. It is equipped with a 200/24hp motor mated to a selective

sliding-gear type transmission with three forward speeds and one reverse. It has a 3/4 floating rear axle with 4:11 ratio. This pickup features the era-correct colors of Blue Rock Green body with black fenders and Tacoma Cream wheels. It comes with both Ford authorized and Ford non-authorized assembly-line and dealer-installed accessories to supplement the standard parts and features. It also has a side-mounted welled front fender with wheel, tire and carrier. Other details include a running-board step plate, quail radiator cap, vacuum wipers, cowl lamps, pickup box side boards and an original C.A. Taylor trunk. It also has inside and outside rear view mirrors, pedal pads, door pockets, pillar door locks and black duck-cloth roof lining. The teacup rear lights features amber and red lenses. It also has a heater manifold, air filters and accessory gauges. Weathered but very functional, it has always been maintained as reliable as possible.
