Ford encountered export problems in the 60s into Germany with the Ford Mustang. To solve the problem, Ford changed the name of the exported Mustangs into the German market to the Ford T-5. All of the Mustang emblems on these cars were deleted. The records of Kevin Marti show that only 377 T-5s were exported to Germany in 1970. To date only 24 of those have been located and verified via the record of Kevin Marti. Of those 24 located only 10 were Mach 1s and only three of those were factory
equipped with a 4-speed transmissions. This car is one of three cars, and each car is one of one. This T-5 Mach 1 has its original Buck Tag, Elite Marti Report and verification letter from Gary Hanson, the President of the Ford T-5 Registry. This is an M Code 351 Cleveland, 4-speed in Medium Bright Metallic. Factory options include sport deck rear seat, power front disc brakes and export special handling package. Additional options include the Magnum 500 wheels, rear slats, front and rear spoilers and hood tachometer. This is a high optioned Mach 1 and one of three known to exist in the T-5. Looking under this restored Mach 1 you will find a red oxide underbody that looks just as good as the top side.
