The 1957 models lived up to the division's sterling reputation, with their lightly updated bodies and trim defining them as new models with a 129' wheelbase. A wide array of extra equipment was the big news. Cadillac adopted a tubular X-frame without side rails on all models for 1957. This provided more structural rigidity and lower body lines without the loss of useable space. Front-end styling is marked by rubber bumper guard tips and dual circular parking lamps set into the lower bumper

section. Side trim was revised and a dual taillight theme was used throughout the Cadillac line. By utilizing different center series, three different overall measurements appeared on cars with matching wheelbases. The Sedan Deville was bigger than 'standard' models. The Cadillac was designed for and sold to affluent Americans who were beginning to view luxury as more than leather and chrome; they wanted the latest in technology, which proved that one not only had to have superbly tuned taste, but also one that was keeping in touch with the pleasures afforded by an ever-changing world. This car was on display at the Shanghai Automotive Museum in China from 2006 through 2015.
