During July 1955, VW introduced this sensuous auto to the European press. The press called it 'a world sensation,' but the car 'still did not have a name.' Eventually, custom coachbuilder, Dr. Karmann suggested 'Karmann-ghia', a delicious sounding name that everyone accepted with open arms. This Karmann Ghia is a truly beautiful show piece that was recently restyled by the guys at KAO Autostyling here in Las Vegas. This vehicle was originally purchased new in 1974 from Vern Hagestad Motor
Company in Denver, Colorado. This car comes with the original brochure and original registration dated January 7, 1975. This vehicle remained in Colorado up until about 1 year ago when it was purchased from the original owner's estate and then transported to KAO where it received a nice face lift which includes new Italian Crystal Blue Pearl paint, a stunning new interior done in classic white leatherette with light blue piping, a new white Hartz pinpoint vinyl convertible top with glass window, German loop baby blue carpet and a freshly rebuilt 1,600cc motor with all the chrome and aluminum accessories available. To finish off the classy look of this Ghia, a new set of fully polished EMPI wheels and a new set of tires were installed. This is a great looking 2-seater that can be used as a showpiece or a daily driver.
