Here is a beautiful little 1929 Ford Model A closed-cab pickup. This great little truck is great if you are looking for a solid, well built, all Henry-steel Hot Rod. It was made to be an around-town driver. This is not a tired and raggedy Rat Rod. Here are the highlights, the frame is made from 3x2 steel tubing, with reinforcing plates added over the corner welds. The front suspension is a unique 1/4 elliptical setup, split wishbones, and a straight I-beam axle. Spring perches were TIG welded
onto the axle for extra strength. Due to the front friction shocks it handles very nicely, without the bounce you'd expect from a long front end. Drag link steering comes from a 1940 Ford steering box and '40 brakes, hubs and spindles. It has rebuilt wheel cylinders, a new Mustang master cylinder, brake lines, residual pressure valves, proportioning valve, and custom-length hoses. Original 1934 Ford 16' wire wheels round out the chassis, with 7.50 rear and 6.00 front tires in the classic big 'n little stance. The engine is a 1952 Ford 239cid Flathead. It sports a dual carburetor Offenhauser intake manifold, topped with Holley 94's. One is a dummy, one is rebuilt. Chrome acorn nuts, new 12-volt chromed alternator, starter solenoid, internally resisted coil, spark plug wires, cap and rotor. New Walker radiator, electric fan and water pumps keep it cool. And although the custom made torque tube headers are unbaffled, they aren't too loud and have a beautiful bubbly tone. The transmission is a 1939 Ford Toploader that was completely rebuilt with new bearings and seals. The differential is a stock Model A banjo with 4.11 gears. The cab is real Detroit steel, chopped 5'. The header above the windshield was removed instead of cutting down the windshield, thereby allowing more visibility and leaving the windshield almost the same size as the side windows. The '32 grille shell is steel and chopped 4' with a stainless insert. The headlights are original Guides, with blue dot tails.
