Less than 2,900 original miles. Completely stock except for new tires and a new battery. This is a truly great unmolested example of Carroll Shelby's best work of the 1980's. This GLHS is number 701 of the 1,000 Chargers Carroll Shelby purchased from Dodge and converted into GLHS's at Shelby's facility in Whittier California. These special cars we sold as Shelby's, not Dodge's, and were all built to the same exacting specifications which went beyond special paint, body kits, and badging.

Shelby used the proven 2.2L Turbo engine upgraded to produce a very conservative rating of 175hp and 175 ft/lbs of torque that when combined with a curb weight of only 2,580lbs resulted in serious performance. The GLHS also features an upgraded Koni adjustable suspension and Z rated tires on special edition Centurian wheels. All GLHS's were painted black with a special body and decal kit, GLHS specific silver interior with a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, moon roof and a numbered and signed dash plaque. GLHS #701 was originally sold in Ohio where it resided for 22 years with its original owner who took such meticulous care of the Shelby that he kept an activity log that documented every time it was turned on and every mile it travelled. Since his passing in 2009 the vehicle has fortunately stayed in the hands of Shelby enthusiasts who have maintained his original commitment to keeping it in pristine aesthetic condition. In addition to the aforementioned activity log, the Shelby comes with the original Window Sticker, original marketing brochures, original owner manuals including warranty sheets, original sales contract, and documented title chain. With only 1,000 GLHS's built this Shelby is in great condition, with documented ownership.
