Details
This car received the AACA First Place Award in 1990. Rare car with only 5,976 convertibles manufactured in 1939. Raymond H. Dietrick, the great coach builder who headed Chrysler styling at the time, came up with the refreshing new look for 1939. Immediately noticeable was a strongly peared prow type front, perhaps inspired by that of the Lincoln Zephyr. Plus a Vee'd two-piece windshield instead of the previous single pane. Headlights, new rectangular were flush within the front fenders and the
gearshift moved from floor to steering column. The canvas convertible top could be power-operated for the first time. A definite selling point. Also, this car is equipped with a rumble seat which was the last year available for Plymouth. Other accessories include factory radio, bumper guards, deluxe wheel covers and wide white wall tires. This car has been judged the best by the Antique Automobile Club of America.
