10,000 original miles, 1 of 478 1LE Edition Camaros built in 1991. After completing its contract with the International Race of Champions series in 1990, Chevrolet dropped the IROC Z package in the Camaro and reactivated the Z/28, a move that proved very popular with the market. This was not just a case of badge engineering, however, because choosing the right options produced a very special Camaro that was ready for SCCA competition right off the showroom floor. As in the two previous years, the whole business was kicked off by choosing the G92 performance rear axle option, which activated the 1LE Special Performance Components Package. The 1LE also gave the car heavy duty front brakes, aluminum driveshaft and spare wheel, special shocks and fuel pick-up, and a fuel tank baffle. In addition, fog lamps were deleted to save weight and improve cooling. Collectively these features rendered the new Z/28 ready for SCCA competition. Camaro collectors will find this incredible time machine a most attractive opportunity.
