ROY ROGERS' 1964 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE

This 1964 Lincoln Continental was Roy Rogers and Dale Evans personal car. It was purchased used by Roy in 1965 and they would take it around town as well as go on long road trips between Apple Valley and Los Angeles. The car was painted factory blue when Roy bought it until he decided to have it painted a few years later. Pete, a family friend was paid to take it for a paint job while Roy was out of town. He instructed Pete to have it painted a pale golden color, which, with its white top and

interior, would have made a perfect match with Trigger his horse. What he didn't know is that Pete was colorblind! So, the blue Lincoln was supposed to be painted a pale gold however became a Gleaming Canary Yellow. Except for the paint job, mechanical maintenance, and a refurbished convertible top, the car is close to original. Odometer reads just over 100,000 miles (title reads mileage exempt) and considering it has spent nearly 3 decades in the Roy Roger Museum, those miles are a definite testimony how much Roy loved to drive this car!
