A former Penske Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race car, this Dodge Charger was driven by racing legend, Rusty Wallace, in the 2009 edition of the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, held July 3-5, 2009 in the United Kingdom. The former Penske superspeedway chassis was specially restored by Rusty Wallace Racing team members for the event, in which NASCAR had asked Wallace to represent the 50th anniversary of the famed Daytona 500. The car thus carries special Daytona 500 badging, which was
displayed solely for the Goodwood event. Goodwood's Lord Charles March presented the car with an award for being the best NASCAR/stock car restoration of the event. While driving it, Wallace unofficially posted the fastest time ever recorded by a NASCAR-style car at Goodwood. Other NASCAR teams joining the RWR/Penske effort at the 2009 event included Hendrick Motorsports, Richard Childress Racing and Red Bull Racing. Wallace's 3,400lb stock car comes to Barrett-Jackson exactly as it ran at the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed. At the heart of the beast is an authentic R5-P7 Dodge Magnum V8 Sprint Cup Series racing engine. Built by Penske-Jasper Engines.
