Designed as Cadillac's answer to the Mercedes-Benz SL500, the Allante was built to compete in the luxury convertible marketplace and show the world what the company could really do. Built between 1987 and 1993, the Allante was designed and partially built by Pininfarina - during production, bodies were built in Italy and flown 4,600 miles to Detroit, MI, for final assembly by Cadillac.
