The ZR1 was introduced as GM's 'King of the Hill' world class sports car. This car was developed around a unique 5.7 liter aluminum V8 that was designed through an alliance with Lotus and specially built by performance engine producer Mercury Marine. The combination of a light weight alloy block and a double overhead cam, 4 valve per cylinder valve train producing 375hp and 370 ft/lbs of tire burning torque. The power is transmitted to the ground via a 6-speed manual transmission. This year digital gauges were added as well as a driver and passenger airbags. Extra deep red leather seats keep the driver and passenger nicely planted. Additional features include 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS, adjustable steering tilt wheel, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, cruise, ride control, glass top and adjustable lumbar support.
