This is one incredible car. In 1987, the last year of the Regal Grand National's production, Buick sent 547 Grand National models off to McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC to be modified. This is car #216. The result was a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, 360 ft/lbs of torque, 13.5 second quarter mile super car. Underrated at 276hp, this was created to be the Grand National to end all Grand Nationals. A Garrett t-3 turbocharger with ceramic impeller, low restriction exhaust with dual mufflers,
reprogrammed Turbo Hydra-matic 200-4R automatic transmission with custom torque converter and transmission cooler, upgraded suspension, and unique differential cover/panhard bar included more of the performance modifications. Exterior styling changes include vents on the front fenders, 16' black mesh style wheels, VR speed rated tires, and deletion of the hood and fender emblems. An individually numbered dash plaque indicated which number of the series each car was. From day one, this car was considered a collector's item and many were put away and rarely driven. This one owner example was bought new from Goodman Buick in Littleton, CO and comes with every single piece of original paperwork from the $500.00 deposit receipt for the special order to the ASC/McLaren Window Sticker, all the books, manuals, magazine articles, even the original selling dealer's key fob. It has traveled 24,917 original miles in its life.
