This twin turbo conversion was done by Greg Armstrong of Historic Race Engineering in Costa Mesa, CA. He is best known for being contracted to produce a run of seven Lamborghini Diablo Twin Turbos (VTTT) in the early 1990s. The V12 engine was completely rebuilt, including forged internals to better handle the power of the twin Garrett T3 turbochargers, which were controlled by a MegaSquirt engine management system. At the same time, a GM 4L60 4-speed transmission was added to better handle the
power output of the twin-turbo engine. To keep things civil inside the luxurious, Connolly leather-filled cabin, the air conditioning was upgraded with a Sanden unit and R134a refrigerant. The suspension has been completely rebuilt with new bushings and shocks, adding to the ride and replacing the failure-prone self-levelling unit originally included from Ferrari.
