This car was featured as a 'makeover' project by 'Popular Mechanics' magazine - June 1998 issue, pages 108-111. 'Popular Mechanics' found this car as a homely tatterdemalion of an old convertible which had spent the previous two years being passed from used car dealer to used car dealer across South Florida. But it found new life as the second in a 'Popular Mechanics' series of auto makeovers. The current owner purchased the car from 'Popular Mechanics' as a result of an online auction they hosted after the car was given its makeover. Purchased with 94,000 original miles on the odometer - 9 years later the odometer reads 105,944. This car is not fast, but it sure is pretty. This car is not mean, but it sure is pretty. This car is not tough, but is sure is pretty. This is the kind of car to be seen in. It's not lavish, opulent or luxurious, but it's fun, classy and did we mention, pretty? Two copies of the 'Popular Mechanics' magazine featuring the car are included - one is in pristine condition for the collector and the other is for showing your friends. Copies of the title and Bill of Sale from 'Popular Mechanics' are also included.
'Popular Mechanics' magazine performed a makeover on this pretty car and featured it in the June 1998 issue, 'From Junker to Top-Down Jewel'.
