Details
Very unique race car, built in 1980 as an independent front Stanton race car. It was first owned by Phil Schwartz in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was hauled to some races, but wasn't run because of the independent front end. In 1988 or 1989, the car was purchased by Steve Truchan. Steve had a conversation with USAC Officials about building an independent front end Silver Crown car, and was told by them that he could build one as there weren't any rules against it in the rule book. So Steve built
this car. In 1990, he took the car to the Indy Fairgrounds on dirt and hot lapped the car. Steve said it was very fast. Later he took the car to Milwaukee, WI and put Jeff Bloom in the car. He started last in the feature, and in 18 laps was up to third. The radius rod spud broke off of the right rear and he had to park the car. Steve was told by USAC Officials not to bring the car back to any races because they wouldn't let it run again, and the story goes on. This is a very nice car with a clutch and starter, fresh Dowker engine, nice wheels and tires. Complete car with very little time on it. The car history is brief, but cool. **SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY**
