Details
This is a one-owner car, purchased new in May 1979 from Felix Chevrolet in Culver City, CA. A total interior restoration was begun in 2015 and completed in 2018. All upholstery, carpets, headliner, rear deck, dashboard and glove box, interior door panels, sun visors and the instrument cluster were replaced with OEM parts. Also replaced were the kick panels, all door seals, all window seals, the trunk liner and the trunk seals. The original vinyl bumper covers were replaced with NPD 'Flex Glass'
fiberglass reproductions. The windshield was replaced in 2020. The car is equipped with custom WeatherTech floor mats and a custom fit all-weather car cover. The original 350ci engine was replaced after approximately 236,000 miles with a 305ci V8 with a 3/4-race cam teamed with an automatic transmission. This engine has approximately 19,000 miles on it, giving the car an approximate total mileage of 254,000 miles. The speedometer cable was sheared between 1987 and 1995, while the car was used almost exclusively to tow a sailplane trailer. The cable was replaced in 1995 and sheared again in 2002. The speedometer and cable assembly were replaced in 2016. The air conditioning has been converted to R134A and was charged in November 2021. Five new 205/70-15 GTR GT Radial Touring VP Plus tires with American Racing Torq Thrust VN515 15-inch chrome wheels were installed February 2020. The car was painted Dodge Challenger Furious Fuchsia in May 2021 by Maaco in Tempe, AZ.
