L82 engine, 350/220hp, 4-speed close ratio M21 transmission. Special Indy black/silver two tone paint with silver leather interior. This high optioned Indy Pace Car includes Gymkhana suspension, AM/FM/CB and power antenna, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, rear window defogger, removable glass tops, sport mirrors and t-top bags. Also included are original Build Sheet, vehicle invoice copy, recent receipts, car cover, owner's, assembly and
NCRS technical manuals. 1978 Corvette Limited Edition Indy Pace Car was destined to be a car of several firsts. The 1978 Corvette was the first Corvette to ever pace the Indianapolis 500. It was also the first automobile to pace the field in completely stock trim. Additionally, it was the first time GM used a sequential VIN system to identify the pace cars. 6,502 Corvette Limited Edition Indy Pace Cars were built. This Corvette was #165 built of the entire production run.
