1974 PONTIAC TRANS AM SUPER DUTY

The 1974 Pontiac Super Duties were the last of the high-performance cars from the '70s. A total of 943 were produced for the 1974 model year. Of that number, just 731 were equipped with the 455 Super-Duty engine and automatic transmission, like this example. This extremely clean and straight car has had one repaint in the original color of Cameo White along with its stunning matching white bucket seat interior. It still retains its complete matching-number drivetrain - engine, automatic transmission and rear differential. It's loaded with factory options such as factory air conditioning, power windows, tilt steering, power brakes, power steering, bucket seats with console, honeycomb wheels and 3-spoke Pontiac steering wheel. The history of the Super Duty is legendary. However, a little-known fact is that all the 455ci Super Duty engines were literally hand-built race engines, as an off-assembly-line operation. This was unheard of for a production vehicle, especially during the time of detuning and emissions regulations. Originally delivered to Quebec, Canada, for this reason, the original owner's manuals that accompany the car are written in French. Documentation also accompanying the Super Duty is the original Window Sticker and documentation from GM of Canada showing what the car as equipped with when delivered new. This car is a rarely-seen muscle car that has been well-preserved and cared for by its caretakers.
