The Clarion Builds team, in conjunction with a group of hand-selected industry partners, took an excellent example of an iconic BMW 2002 and commenced a full restoration with tasteful upgrades to transform it into a sensational Resto-Mod that will go on to support cancer research at the TGen Foundation. This one-of-a-kind masterpiece was the winner of the Petersen Museum's 2015 Petersen Perfection Award. The fully documented and highly publicized rotisserie restoration of this 1974 BMW 2002 was
headed by the legendary BMW experts at Coupé King in Los Angles. Every part of the vehicle was stripped, reconditioned, repaired, replated or replaced with NOS parts. The car maintains its highly desirable factory-original appearance on the outside with a fresh factory-matching Fjord Blue BMW paint job, all new NOS BMW glass, seals and lighting, and was fitted with tasteful modifications that include European-spec bumpers and a set of restored period-correct German-made BBS RS honeycomb-style three-piece wheels. The upholstery was upgraded with premium leather, luxurious Alcantara accents, a Nardi steering wheel and shifter, and a tastefully designed Clarion audio system featuring an Internet-connected touchscreen head unit, component speakers and subwoofers. The audio system in the Clarion Builds BMW 2002 was designed to sound fantastic and offer modern conveniences like navigation, music streaming and Bluetooth. Under the hood, a completely refreshed and upgraded BMW M10 motor with boosted compression, a performance intake manifold and dual side-draft Weber 40s capped off by a custom one-off air filter specially made for this car by K&N. A high-flowing header and complete stainless-steel MagnaFlow exhaust system was also fitted to enhance the car's breathing and make more power. The factory 4-speed was swapped with a Getrag 5-speed from a later 3-Series. To improve the driving dynamic of the car on the road and on the track, the suspension was upgraded with Koni shocks, stiffer springs, thicker sway bars and 4-piston Wilwood brakes on all four corners. The expertly restored Clarion Builds BMW 2002 is a stunning example of a true automotive icon and was on display at many shows since its completion, including BimmerFest West 2015, CES 2015 and Legends of the Autobahn 2015. The car was on the cover of European Car, Roundel and PASMAG, and was featured by AutoWeek, Bimmer Magazine, DUB, Jalopnik, Super Street, as well as many others during and after the build process. **100 PERCENT OF HAMMER PRICE TO BENEFIT THE BARRETT-JACKSON CANCER RESEARCH FUND AT TGEN IN MEMORY OF RUSS AND BRIAN JACKSON** **WILL BE SOLD AT APPROXIMATELY 4:30 PM ON SATURDAY, APRIL 9, 2016**
