Details
The subject of a 3-year nut-and-bolt restoration, this 1972 Pontiac Ventura was built to resemble the 'Trans-Am' race cars of the mid- to late-1960s. It’s powered by a Pontiac 400ci V8 engine that's been bored and stroked to 455ci, mated to a Legend 5-speed manual transmission and has 43,209 original miles. It is vintage-looking on the outside and under the hood but features an all-modern drivetrain with Detroit Speed rear suspension, 4-corner coilovers, and 4-wheel disc brakes with 13' in front and 11' in the rear. The interior has rubber floor mats, not carpet, to give the car that raw feel of simplicity. The car was driven on the Hot Rod Power Tour, completing 3,000 miles without issue. Car Craft Magazine featured the car in 2016. The car debuted at the 2015 Detroit Autorama and won an award its first time out.
