Details
This Scout II was restored with modern driving desires in mind. All four corners of the suspension system are supported by six custom-selected 2' leaf springs that meet the exact weight of the vehicle and provide good articulation for trail driving and comfort. Rancho shocks can be adjusted using in-cab controls, from a soft level that allows the truck to drive like a Cadillac on bumpy roads to a firm level when pulling or carrying a load. The Vintage Air system is state-of-the-art, blows nice
and cold, and offers better performance than stock, as does the polished aluminum compressor in the engine bay. The truck has a prewired Sirius satellite system, Pioneer radio that can accept an iPod or iPhone playlist, four 6' speakers with a subwoofer under the passenger seat and an amplifier hidden in the back right side of the cargo area. The powerful and dependable IH 345 engine has been rebuilt, has only 20,000 miles on it and runs very strong. It was slightly modified with a Schneider cam, bored .030' over, polished crank, Holley 650cfm carburetor. Also added was a Jacobs electronic timing control that can be adjusted in the cab; a very nice feature when you head to the mountains and the elevation plays with your carburetion. The truck has a T18 transmission, which is a granny gear with three speeds, four total. With 33' tires and a 3.54 differential gear ratio, the Scout can easily and comfortably cruise at 70mph. The custom interior includes a tan carpet, tan seats with blue inlay and tan cloth on the shell. The whole truck cab inside and out was coated with a color-matched tough spray liner that offers superior resistance to the elements as well as sound deadening and insulation benefits. A custom tire carrier allows for more space inside the cab and makes the spare tire, which is mounted on a spare hub assembly, more accessible. The 30-gallon gas tank has an optional skid plate welded to it for more protection. Bushwacker mud flares keep mud and water from flinging and sticking to the windows. The custom front bumper is made out of 3/16' and 1/4' steel, supporting the famous 8274 Warn winch. The winch has been rebuilt with new bearings and seals, has an upgraded 9500 motor and is powered by a dual battery setup with its own battery isolation system.
