Description
A custom 1972 Pro-touring Chevelle with a 1970 nose set up on it to have the best of both worlds. This project started out with a rust-free '72 Chevelle body. The entire nose of a 1970 Chevelle was then added. 1,000's of hours went into perfecting the lines and massaging to get it ready for paint. The firewall was smoothed as were the inner fenders. Once ready the Flame Red base coat/clear coat was applied with black Super Sport stripes. Next came hours of wet sanding and buffing until the ultimate finish was acquired. This paint and body is spectacular and the finish looks 10' deep. All new glass, chrome and trim were then added along with a set of Billet Specialties Rat Tail wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich performance rubber. A set of 22's were put on the rear with a set of 20's up front. Through the wheels you can see a 4-wheel disc brake system with performance rotors and polished calipers were added for plenty of stopping power. The exterior is without a doubt a show stopper. The complete custom interior is just an extension of the exterior. The new dash and console are custom fabricated out of steel and feature a full set of Autometer gauges, AM/FM/CD sound system, generation II Vintage Air and heat with slider vents and a custom shifter. The interior is upholstered in black synthetic leather with a custom red stripe and features power steering with a tilt wheel and billet steering wheel with leather wrap. This entire interior was rewired with Hot Wiring. In the trunk, you will find it is also custom upholstered in synthetic leather just like the interior. Under the hood of this spectacular Chevelle, you will find an engine compartment with a smoothed firewall, custom shield over the hood release and radiator area, and smoothed wheel wells that are all painted in Flame Red. The engine is a 383 Stroker complete with a Scat crank, Eagle H-beam rods, Keith Black pistons, 540 lift Comp cam with 1.6 roller tip rockers, Fast Burn heads, aluminum air gap intake and a 750 double pumper Holley carburetor. All of the cylinders are kept ablaze with an MSD ignition system while a set of Headman Headers plumbed through a Flowmaster exhaust system lets this small block breathe. The aluminum radiator and electric fan keep this Chevelle running nice and cool. It is estimated that this engine is producing 450hp with 500 ft/lbs of torque. The 5-speed overdrive transmission provides performance and mileage with a .62 overdrive. The hp is planted to the ground through a 12-bolt posi-traction rear spinning a set of 3:73 gears. The undercarriage is also restored so get out the mirrors. The front suspension was completely rebuilt and Hotchkis 1' lowering springs were added. The rear suspension was upgraded with tubular Hotchkis trailing arms, 1' lowering springs and a Hotchkis rear sway bar. This incredible Chevelle has it all.
