Details
This custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 CST Blazer has undergone a full rotisserie frame-off restoration, which was completed in 2015. It is powered by a FiTech fuel-injected new 383ci stroker engine paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The original frame was sandblasted and powder-coated to start the build. The body was completely disassembled and professionally restored. The original hood was replaced with a cowl-inducted hood, as well as a brand-new grille shell and headlight bezels. Every piece
of hardware is either brand-new or was sandblasted and painted. It is finished in a yellow PPG base coat/clear coat paint with black stripes. The factory double-wall hardtop has been reworked and sanded smooth, and all-new glass was added throughout. The body was completely lined with Dynamat insulation, and the doors and quarter-panels were insulated. A Painless wire harness was installed under the dash and hood. Some of the newly installed parts include tilt steering, instrument cluster with tach, dash pad, air conditioning vents, seat belts, inner and outer door handles, round mirrors, front bumper, rear roll pan, fuel tank, chrome fuel door, battery box, headlights, gaskets and seals. The total custom-built interior includes an OEM center console, emblems, carpet, and a stereo system with built-in amps and subwoofers. The drivetrain was completely rebuilt just for this K5. The new 383ci stroker engine was built with aluminum heads, performance cam, ceramic headers, polished pulley kit, chrome AC, billet radiator and overflow tank, dual electric cooling fans, dual Flowmaster exhaust, aluminum engine oil and transmission pans, and newly added FiTech fuel-injection system with in-tank fuel pump. The Turbo 350 automatic transmission and NP205 transfer case were totally rebuilt at the same time as the engine build. Both front and rear driveshafts were polished and clear coated. The suspension has been completely modified to accommodate the 6 inches of lift and house the new LT315/70R17 Cooper tires.
